Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 3, 2026

At AutoSave Contacts, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.

Privacy First: All phone number detection and contact processing happens entirely on your device. We do NOT collect, transmit, or store any phone numbers, contacts, or device data on external servers.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Collected on Our Servers (Payment Only)

We only collect the following information on our servers for payment processing purposes:

  • Email Address: Used for account creation and payment receipts
  • Password: Encrypted and used for secure account authentication
Important: We ONLY collect email and password for payment purposes. We do NOT collect or store any phone numbers, contacts, screen content, or device information on our servers.

1.2 Information Processed Locally on Your Device

AutoSave Contacts processes the following information locally on your device only:

  • Screen Content: Analyzed locally to detect phone numbers (never transmitted)
  • Detected Phone Numbers: Stored locally on your device only
  • Contact Information: Names and phone numbers you save (stored in device contacts)
  • Detection History: Records of detected numbers (stored locally only)
  • App Preferences: Your settings and configurations (stored locally only)

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect on Our Servers

We want to be absolutely clear about what we do NOT collect or store on our servers:

  • Phone numbers (detected or saved)
  • Contact lists or contact data
  • Screen content or screenshots
  • Device identifiers or device information
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Detection history

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Payment Information (Email and Password)

The email and password collected on our servers are used exclusively for:

  • Creating and managing your payment account
  • Processing payments and subscriptions
  • Sending payment receipts and invoices
  • Account authentication and security
  • Communicating about billing and payment issues

2.2 Local Device Data Processing

The information processed locally on your device is used solely to:

  • Detect phone numbers displayed on your screen
  • Check for duplicate contacts before saving
  • Provide you with detection history (stored locally)
  • Improve app functionality and user experience

This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

3. Permissions Explained

WhatsApp & Messaging App Security: AutoSave Contacts does NOT access, read, or store your WhatsApp messages, conversations, or account credentials. We only detect visible phone numbers on your screen. Your WhatsApp account and messages remain completely secure and private.

3.1 Accessibility Service Permission

Why we need it: To read text content from your screen to detect phone numbers.

What we do with it: We only process visible text to identify phone number patterns. No screen content is stored or transmitted.

Security: Processing happens in real-time and locally on your device.

WhatsApp & Messaging Apps: While we can see phone numbers displayed on your screen (including in WhatsApp), we do NOT access, read, store, or transmit your messages, conversations, media, or account information. We only detect phone number patterns in visible text.

3.2 Contacts Permission

Why we need it: To save detected phone numbers to your contacts and check for duplicates.

What we do with it: We only access contacts when you explicitly choose to save a number or when checking for duplicates.

WhatsApp Integration: Saved contacts may appear in WhatsApp if your WhatsApp is synced with your device contacts. This is controlled by WhatsApp's settings, not our app.

3.3 Notifications Permission

Why we need it: To alert you when a phone number is detected.

What we do with it: Display notifications with detected numbers and action buttons.

3.4 Foreground Service Permission

Why we need it: To keep the accessibility service running continuously.

What we do with it: Maintain the service in the background for real-time phone number detection.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Server-Side Storage (Payment Data Only)

Only your email and password are stored on our secure servers:

  • Passwords: Encrypted using industry-standard bcrypt hashing (never stored in plain text)
  • Email Addresses: Stored securely with encryption at rest
  • Server Security: SSL/TLS encryption, regular security audits, and access controls

4.2 Local Device Storage

All phone numbers, contacts, and detection data are stored locally on your device using:

  • Room Database: Encrypted SQLite database for detection history
  • SharedPreferences: Encrypted preferences for app settings
  • Android Contacts Provider: System-managed contact storage

Security Measures:

  • Payment data encrypted on our servers
  • Passwords hashed with bcrypt
  • All local data encrypted at rest on your device
  • No transmission of phone numbers or contacts to our servers
  • No external servers or cloud storage for contact data
  • No third-party analytics or tracking

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT share, sell, rent, or trade your information with third parties.

5.1 Payment Data

Your email and password are used solely for payment processing and account management. We do not share this information with third parties except:

  • Payment Processors: Secure payment gateways to process transactions (they do not receive your password)
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or valid legal process

5.2 Phone Numbers and Contact Data

Since all phone number detection and contact processing happens locally on your device, there is zero data transmission of this information to our servers or any third parties.

Your detected phone numbers, contacts, and detection history never leave your device.

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Payment Processing

We use secure third-party payment processors to handle transactions. These processors may collect payment information (credit card details, billing address) but we do not store this information on our servers. We only store your email and password.

6.2 Analytics and Advertising

AutoSave Contacts does not integrate with any analytics platforms, advertising networks, or tracking services. The core app functionality operates entirely offline.

6.3 WhatsApp and Messaging Apps

AutoSave Contacts is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, or any other messaging service. We do not access your messaging app accounts, credentials, or data. We simply detect phone numbers that are visible on your screen when you use these apps.

7. Children's Privacy

AutoSave Contacts does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately.

8. Security Commitment

8.1 What We Protect

We take security seriously and implement multiple layers of protection:

  • Payment Data: Your email and password are encrypted on our servers using industry-standard encryption
  • Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
  • Local Data: All phone numbers and detection history are encrypted on your device
  • No Transmission: Phone numbers, contacts, and screen content never leave your device

8.2 WhatsApp & Messaging App Security

Your messaging apps remain completely secure:

  • We do NOT access WhatsApp messages, chats, or media
  • We do NOT access WhatsApp account credentials or authentication tokens
  • We do NOT decrypt or intercept encrypted messages
  • We do NOT access WhatsApp backups, contacts, or call logs
  • We ONLY detect visible phone numbers on your screen (same as what you can see)

Technical Explanation: The accessibility service reads visible text on your screen to find phone number patterns. This is similar to how you would manually copy a phone number. We cannot and do not access the underlying data, encrypted messages, or account information of WhatsApp or any other app.

9. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Payment Account Rights

Regarding your payment account (email and password):

  • Access: View your account information at any time in the app

  • Delete: Clear detection history at any time in the app
  • Disable: Turn off the accessibility service to stop detection
  • Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all locally stored data

  • Account deletion is immediate and permanent

10.2 Local Data Retention

Phone numbers, contacts, and detection history are retained locally on your device until:

  • You manually delete detection history in the app
  • You clear app data in Android settings
  • You uninstall the application

11.1 Payment Data

Your email and password may be stored on servers located in [Your Country/Region]. By using our payment services, you consent to the transfer and storage of this limited information.

11.2 Phone Numbers and Contact Data

Since AutoSave Contacts processes all phone numbers and contact data locally on your device, there are no international data transfers of this information. Your phone numbers and contacts never leave your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Displaying an in-app notification

Your continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
